About

In this way exchange students in the EU-Japan Advanced Multidisciplinary Master Studies from the Jagiellonian University are able to study in two master's programmes and after successful completion obtain master's degrees from two universities; thus ultimately obtaining two degrees, one from a European university and the other from a Japanese university. The opportunity for students to select from the full range of courses offered by the humanities, social as well as natural sciences allows them to undertake a unique learning experience – the multidisciplinary nature of the Double Degree Programmes (DDP) - produces students who are truly capable of tackling the ever more complex national and global issues of the 21st century.

Objectives
EU-JAMM envisions fostering multidisciplinary competence by focusing on understanding the comparative perspectives of EU-Japan relations through studying for double master degrees from both regions after completing at least a full academic year of study. The EU-JAMM curriculum enables exchange students from the EU and Japan to conduct a comprehensive and structural analysis of the EU and Japan from a multidisciplinary perspective, e.g., historical, political, legal, economic, sociological, cultural, anthropological, linguistic, philosophical, sociocultural and environmental engineering. In addition to its focus on the EU and Japan and their interactions, EU-JAMM offers local language and culture courses as well as internship opportunities for students. In this way Japanese students will become ‘EU experts' with a deeper understanding of the EU as well as its cultural composition. European students, meanwhile, specialise in Japan's global role from both a historical and contemporary perspective.
