Students with professional backgrounds apply their experience in advertising, emerging media, film, the Internet, media management, print, public relations, and television to deeper studies of their effects at social and individual levels.

The final, overall PBT score ranges between 310 and 677, and is based on an average taken from the three test components (listening, structure, and reading). Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

  • A copy of your undergraduate transcripts. (You must have a GPA of at least 3.0 in the last 90 credits of undergraduate coursework.)
  • Satisfactory scores on the verbal and quantitative sections of the Graduate Record Examination.
  • At least three letters of recommendation from people who are able to attest to your ability to do graduate-level work. At least one of these letters should come from a former or current professor or college-level instructor.
  • A letter of intent detailing your goals and expectations as a graduate student in journalism and media studies.
  • A writing sample such as a college course term paper.
