Physical and Health Education Pedagogy is a broad area that addresses issues of teaching-learning in a variety of settings in which physical activity and other health behaviors are involved.


This area is also concerned with the facilitation and promotion of healthy lifestyles across the life-span, with a particular emphasis on childhood and adolescence.

    The TOEFL – or Test OF English as a Foreign Language – offers a paper-based test (PBT). The final, overall PBT score ranges between 310 and 677, and is based on an average taken from the three test components (listening, structure, and reading).     The TOEFL – or Test Of English as a Foreign Language – offers an internet-based test (iBT). The final, overall iBT score ranges between 0 and 120, and includes a scaled average from the four components (reading, listening, speaking, and writing). Read more about TOEFL (iBT).

Academic Requirements

  • Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA: 3.0 overall, or atleast 3.2/4.0 over the last two years of study).
  • An undergraduate degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or its equivalent is a prerequisite for graduate study in Kinesiology and Physical Education.
  • Students who seek admission to the Master's program without a degree in Physical Education may be required to complete up to 30 credits of undergraduate work to qualify.
  • The specific courses and the number of credits will be determined by the student's advisor in consultation with the Graduate Program Director in light of the student's background and career goals.
  • The final decision regarding extra course requirements remains with the academic advisor.
  • Applicants may be required to complete work beyond the specific MA requirements (usually undergraduate courses), if the quality of a previous degree program cannot be evaluated or if crucial courses are missing. This must be specified to the student under conditions of acceptance.
  • Applicants are advised to contact a potential supervisor in advance of the application deadline.
