Profound skills in computer-aided methods are of growing importance for every engineer in all fields of professional activity. The M.Sc. Computer Aided Conception and Production in Mechanical Engineering (CAME) at the RWTH Aachen University addresses specifically the purposes of the practicing mechanical engineer. Within one programme you can choose between two specializations - one design-oriented and one production-oriented - to fit your personal interest best. Thus, students can chart a customized learning programme according to their educational background and professional career plans.

Programme Structure

The M.Sc. CAME is organized in two specializations: "Conception of Machines" and "Production of Machines". Students must choose one specialization to pursue in their studies:
  • Study Track: Conception of Machines
  • Study Track: Production of Machines

In addition, all students of the CAME programme must complete the following coursework:

  • A complementary German language course (to be completed with the B1 examination)
  • A nine-week Industrial Internship
  • A study-integrated Mini Thesis
  • A four-month Master Thesis
In awarding the RWTH Aachen University Master's Degree, the programme gives its graduates a degree that is recognised world-wide and qualifies its graduates for further PhD studies.

    The IELTS – or the International English Language Test System – tests your English-language abilities (writing, listening, speaking, and reading) on a scale of 1.00–9.00.     The TOEFL – or Test OF English as a Foreign Language – offers a paper-based test (PBT). The final, overall PBT score ranges between 310 and 677, and is based on an average taken from the three test components (listening, structure, and reading).     The TOEFL – or Test Of English as a Foreign Language – offers an internet-based test (iBT). The final, overall iBT score ranges between 0 and 120, and includes a scaled average from the four components (reading, listening, speaking, and writing). Read more about TOEFL (iBT).

Academic Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering or Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, such as Automotive, Aerospace or Energy Engineering, Manufacturing, Structural, Industrial or Production Engineering, awarded by an internationally recognized university-level institution.
  • Good performance in your undergraduate studies.
