The traditional emphasis on practice-based production is shifting towards a more experimental environment that is open to new media and new forms of knowledge and experience. This involves an innovative way of thinking and developing theories. The Master of Arts in Fine Art course links up with these current developments and tries to find answers to the question of how we should deal with these developments. Whereas in the Bachelor’s course in fine arts the emphasis is on the ‘how’ of the profession, the Master’s course focuses on the question of ‘why’. The Master of Arts in Fine Art thus provides plenty of scope for individual deepening, research and reflection.

The Typography Workshop is a two-year MA program centred on practical assignments and self-initiated projects. It also serves as a meeting place for graphic designers with regard to research and dialogue. Work reviews and lessons are informal in character. Participants work in a professionally equipped studio that is available all the time. WT is open to a maximum number of twenty graphic designers who want to deepen their knowledge and skills. Participation depends entirely upon proven ability.
