M.Ed. Special Education

The Special Education program at UBC concerns the education of students with exceptionalities, such as students with visual impairments, developmental disabilities, emotional or behavioural disorders, learning disabilities, gifts and talents, and those who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Master Applied Disability Studies

The M.ADS is a professional Master's degree. This option differs from the MA in that no research thesis is required, and the student would not likely be eligible for Brock graduate student stipends and bursaries. M.ADS students may choose to specialize in ABA, and take our BACB approved ABA courses in order to become eligible for certification as a BCBA after completing their degree and experience hours.

The Centre for Applied Disability Program is unique in Ontario and offers stimulating graduate academic programs that can lead to exciting careers in the disability sector. We offer an approved course sequence in the fast growing field of Applied Behaviour Analysis that is needed for eligibility to become a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA).

MEd Special Education

The Special Education specialization prepares students to provide professional services and leadership in Special Education and educational programs offered in schools and other educational institutions. The Special Education program is offered by the University of Northern British Columbia.
