Research

By staying in tune with the needs of our society and the business world, both in the present and the future, Arcada's applied research finds practical solutions to the challenges our country and our world is facing.

Arcada provides an innovative environment with a focus on research-based innovation in the business and public sectors, and with a strong interaction between teaching and research. Housing services

Neighbouring the Arcada building, the student apartments are modern and have their own kitchens and bathrooms. Your visits to the laundry room are free of charge, of course. In the oldest building, which is a mere six-years-old, you can choose between one, two, three and four room apartments.

These homey and modern apartments are in constant demand, and there is one thing on which all students living on campus can agree: they get value for money. The prices are competitive, to say the least.

Living in a student flat on campus will certainly spice up your student life.

Library services

The prime task of Arcada library is to provide services for the students and staff of Arcada. In addition, it works as a library open to the public.

The library's collections can be used in the library, and the e-material can also be accessed by Arcada's students and staff outside Arcada through the Nelli Portal.

Student Life

Campus life

We are proud of our international university, our modern campus and learning environments. Both the study environment and the structure of the studies encourage multi-professionality across fields and a new approach to tasks.

In training laboratories and Living Labs students, together with researchers, develop their skills and explore new knowledge. Our students get to use their competence and creativity in finding new solutions.

As a capital, Helsinki has a lot to offer within culture, media, sports and events and as a modern and green area close to the city center, Arabianranta also has a lot to offer for those who like to spend time outdoors.

Sports facilities

Arcada's own gym Starcis can be found in the D block (room 280). Arcada students have the opportunity to use our modern gym to affordable prices.

Student clubs

If you want to meet new people, Arcada Student Union – ASK and the different Student Associations arrange pastime activities such as parties, sitzes, trips, cottage weekends and other events.

Next to the ASK office at the Cor-house you will find the offices of three out of the four Student Associations in Arcada, Commedia, HanSe SF and HoSK. You can find TLK about 100m from the Cor-house at The Corner. The Student Associations are registered associations that cooperate with ASK to improve the atmosphere for students in their everyday life.

Accreditation

Arcada has been awarded the ECTS and Diploma Supplement quality certifications since 2004. These quality labels show that Arcada is a transparent and reliable partner in European and international co-operation.
