NABA was originally founded in Milan in 1980 by Ausonio Zappa, Guido Ballo and Tito Varisco. The trio wanted to change the rigid academic traditions of the past by introducing new visions and languages based on contemporary artistic practice and the creative professions. In 1981 NABA was officially recognised by the Ministry of Education, University & Research.
Thanks to the unique educational approach that balance theory with practice, students have the chance to work on real projects with Italian and international companies. At NABA Students receive the full support by a dedicated office that help them finding internship and job after their studies. Student Life Office promotes social activities to facilitate student integration, both in campus (e.g. student parties at the Corner, the in-campus bar & restaurant), and out of campus (e.g. trips to visit beautiful destinations, including ski trips during winter time).
The Office also offers special deals for sport activities, most of them take place out of campus (tennis, football, etc), whilst weekly Yoga lessons are offered in campus.
To support the student to settle down in Italy from the bureaucratic point of view, Student Life Office also helps with key issues like fiscal code, permit to stay, health insurance, bank account, etc.

For this purpose, NABA has activated a dedicate office aimed at supporting students with at least two housing alternatives that satisfy their preferences and budget. Immediately after the official pre-enrollment day, students can choose among a number of single and shared room at Campus walking distance, in apartments managed by the school. The option is available upon request. On their arrival students will be able to move in directly.
NABA library contains books and magazines related to the main subjects of interest of NABA courses and all the students’ theses starting from 1980 (NABA foundation year). Videotapes and DVDs of Italian and foreign films and subscriptions to various magazines and journals specialised in our fields of interest enrich the heritage of the library.
Set in the beautiful Navigli area of Milan, the modern NABA campus is 17,000 mq and consists of 12 buildings. All facilities, equipment and individual subject studios are constantly updated to keep students’ work as fresh and cutting edge as possible.
The three-year Bachelor of Arts Degree Programs, the two-year Master of Arts Degree Programs and the Master Programs lead to the attainment of legally recognised degrees and to the achievement of educational credits that will allow students to continue their studies in Academies and Universities in Italy and abroad.
