London, United Kingdom
London is a major centre for the international art market; the gallery scene is one of the most exciting in the world. Hundreds of artists live in the city and shows of new work can be found nearly every week. Included in the fees for all our courses are visits to specialist collections and private galleries in London, and study visits to private houses and historic centres such as Oxford and Cambridge. We also include in our overall fee two international study trips overseas and have visited Venice, Berlin, Paris, Rome, Cologne, New York and many other art-world centres in the past.
At Christies Education you will be studying art from inside the art world. All of our courses have professional practice at their core and this is reflected in the object-based teaching that characterises Christies.
Previews, gallery visits, handling sessions as well as lectures and seminars will enable you to experience both the practical and academic side of the art world. Our courses open doors into a variety of career paths from the full range of activities in an auction house to art related jobs in creative industry as well as the public sector.

New York has been one of the most important international centers of the art market since the Second World War. It is also home to a wealth of museums of modern art from the Guggenheim to the Whitney, and from MOMA to the Met. The contemporary art galleries of Chelsea and Williamsburg, artists' studios and alternative spaces throughout the city, as well as art production facilities such as foundries, print ateliers and conservation laboratories, all offer possibilities for the study and understanding of modern art.
Christie's Education New York is situated in the heart of midtown Manhattan, opposite Bryant Park and the New York Public Library, and a short walk from Christie's salerooms at Rockefeller Center. Students enjoy the use of a reference library, a sizeable study collection of works of art, computer facilities, and access to current periodicals. In addition to this, students regularly use Christie's salerooms where a large staff of experts and facilities for the close examination of works of art at first hand are available.
Students are offered an unparalleled set of resources for professional training, academic learning, and personal growth through the study of the arts. Faculty members work closely with students and students are introduced to visiting lecturers who are world renowned experts in their fields. Teaching is through seminar discussions in small groups where works of art as well as ideas and issues can be examined.
