EDHEC Business School's goal is train current and future executives via teaching and research programmes geared to the needs of the economy and businesses. This objective is enshrined in our "EDHEC for Business" strategy.
This original strategy introduced several years ago has strengthened EDHEC's positioning. Recognition of the EDHEC brand is now underpinned by our Research for Business strategy, our focus on training talent with the skills to develop businesses, as well as by our internationalisation drive, this being visible in the widespread origins of our teaching faculty members and in the opening of two Executive Campuses in London and Singapore.
Research for Business
EDHEC Research is geared to producing research that is useful both to businesses and the economy. To this end, we have invested sizeable sums (12m in 2009/2010 alone) to set up six EDHEC research centres. These centres of excellence produce research that continually enhances our course content and contributes to the creation of innovative education and training programmes. Developments in this area are undertaken in close collaboration with our academic partners worldwide and with the business world.
Convergence with the business world
EDHEC Business School has developed an ambitious policy of relations with the corporate world that places businesses at the centre of our strategy. Synergies between EDHEC and businesses are visible in our day-to-day activities via our programmes and research work. Another example is the EDHEC Business Club, whose 107 corporate members provide valuable input and a practical vision of the business world. As a source of talent for recruiters, EDHEC also brings students and employers together, notably by offering a range of services that make us a genuine recruitment partner for employers and by enabling each student to construct a fully coherent career plan. Other initiatives like recruitment forums, company presentations and recruitment sessions, all underline the central importance that synergies with businesses play within our strategy.
Internationalism is one of the pillars of EDHEC Business School's strategy. We have continued to expand internationally in 2010, particularly by strengthening our presence in Europe and Asia via the opening of two Executive Campuses in London and Singapore. Further initiatives include the recruitment of professors from prestigious foreign universities, the creation of international education tracks and programmes, and the dissemination of our research work in the world's leading economic publications. All in all, no less than 75 nationalities are currently represented on EDHEC Campuses while 85% of our corporate funding comes from international corporations. During 2009-2010, we organised executive education and research seminars in 28 international economic capitals. Lastly, EDHEC is one of the world's select few business schools to have been awarded the three international accreditations, in testimony to the quality of our education and training, our teaching faculty and the methods we employ.
The school has been among the first Business Schools worldwide to be recognised for the excellence of its programmes by the main international accrediting Bodies: AMBA, AACSB and EQUIS. Only 50 institutions worldwide benefit from this "triple crown".
EDHEC Student Career Centre offers throughout your course a programme specifically designed to help you in the elaboration of your career plan: the Talent Identification & Career Development Programme - TICD.
This programme is organised around 3 fields of expertise: a pool of international Career Advisors, an online Career platform and numerous opportunities to meet professionals and recruiters.
During your Bachelor year, this programme will prepare you to the diversity of the business world (Workshops on recruitment tools, over 40 Company Presentations, 7 Career Days, a 2 or 3-month internship between June and August). The Student Career Centre will also help you to understand the processes of decision-making (or how to make your own choices?).
In your 1st year of Master, the Career Centre will help you in building your career plan, getting to know yourself and mastering the international recruitment tools through: workshops on recruitment processes, individual interviews, experiences debriefs, recruitment sessions, contacts with professionals, business games, access to 15,000 internship offers in France and abroad per year, Forums
For your 2nd year of Master, the Career Centre has developed a unique programme in Europe, in order to evaluate you individually on 10 managerial skills recognised by international recruiters and to develop those key skills through workshops.
The Student Career Centre Team welcomes you at EDHEC Business School!
EDHEC is proud of the numerous societies operated by students ranging from leisure activities to humanitarian and social activities. Some societies are internationally renowned such as the EDHEC Racing Boat event named "EDHEC Course Croisière", the largest student event in Europe.
EDHEC Business School is furthering its openly international strategy by expanding activities on five sites. The two 'academic' campuses in Lille and Nice, now complying with the highest international standards, deliver the full range of our activities, including academic programmes, executive education and research. There are a further three part-time campuses, principally for executive training, in Paris, London and now Singapore, which are focused on links with the local environment. These three 'executive' campuses are small-scale and designed to foster interaction with businesses, both in terms of teaching and research.
Lille CampusWith its 43,000 m² of buildings, the new campus has been built with an eye to housing 4,000 students in the future, one third of whom are expected to come from outside France. The campus accomodates the ESPEME Bachelor and EDHEC Master in Management programmes, as well as five MScs, the Executive MBA, the CSM (advances post-experience management programme), customised and open-enrolment training programmes together with research chairs and centres.
Nice CampusEDHEC Business chool has been present in Nice since 1988. We are currently developing the campus via a 3,500 m² extension due to open in 2010, with a new building to follow in 2013. The upgraded campus will offer an excellent environment for learning and research, with completely renewed lecture theatres, conference rooms, classrooms and student areas.
The campus currently accomodates all of EDHEC'a academic undergraduate and graduate programmes (the ESPEME Bachelor, the Financial Economics Track of the EDHEC Master in Management plus four MScs), the Full-time MBA,the PhD in Finance, as well as customised and open-enrolment training. It also houses several research chairs and centres, including the world-renowned EDHEC-Risk Institute.
ParisEDHEC Business School's Paris site is essentially an Executive Campus designed for interaction with the business world. Located in the heart of Paris, it accomodates services most closely-related to business (the Corporate Relations and Careers Department, the Alumni Association) as well as research centres. The Paris site also welcomes EDHEC Master in Management students who have opted for the European Apprenticeship Track. It additionally serves as a venue for research seminars, and customised and open-enrolment training programmes.
LondonThe Group has been present in London for 13 years, providing services to both alumni and companies. Now, however, it is expanding its activities to include those of the EDHEC-Risk Institute. The specialized continuing education programmes that have been set up, particularly in the finance sector, have made it possible for more than 5, 000 City professionals to attend seminars and research conferences since 2003.
The new campus will be the home of:
* EDHEC-Risk Institute-Europe, an extension of the EDHEC-Risk Institute research centre based in Nice, which will be setting up the new research programmes.
* Continuous education programmes: PhD in finance, training seminars for the financial industry in Europe organized in partnership with the CFA Institute. As part of these activities, EDHEC has been organizing the largest European conference on alternative management, EDHEC Alternative Investment Days, since 2004. The conference is held in London.
Singapore CampusFollowing an international tender procedure, EDHEC was invited by the Singaporean Monetary Authorities to participate in a cluster of excellence aimed at developing Singapore into one of the world's major financial centres.
This new Singapore campus, due to open
in October 2010, will be the base for:
* The EDHEC-Risk Institute Asia, an extension of the Nice-based EDHEC-Research Institute, which will be developing new research programmes
* xecutive Education programmes : the PhD in Finance, training seminars for the region's financial industry and the part-time Executive MSc in Risk and Investment Management.
In addition to these three Executive Campuses, EDHEC has a worldwide offer in executive education and research seminars. All in all, we will have organised seminars and training programmes in 28 of the world's major economic capitals in 2009-2010.
