Washington State University

Washington State University was founded in 1890, and is known worldwide for its rigorous scholarship and its research in such fields as engineering, food science, global animal health, and clean technologies. The WSU Global Campus offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees online, as well as a variety of professional certificates. The same renowned faculty who teach classes at WSU’s four physical campuses also design and teach the online courses.

At Washington State University’s Global Campus, the courses are designed and taught by the same WSU faculty who teach at our physical campuses. Our faculty are dedicated to providing a top-quality education, no matter the delivery method. They bring both deep expertise to their courses, and high expectations.

We believe learning comes through engagement and WSU Global Campus courses emphasize interaction. Students have to share their ideas, and be prepared to discuss them. Because our students bring a great diversity of perspectives and life experiences to the table, those conversations can be quite lively.

Our online courses also require students to walk away from the computer. Science courses, for example, have students checking wind direction, looking for rocks and planting seeds. Other courses require students to get involved with their communities through volunteer work.

We also engage students with extracurricular options. We have an online career fair; the nation’s first online student government; and live cultural events. WSU faculty teach free online seminars on everything from beekeeping to nanotechnology. We even have a program that lets online students use webcams to present their research projects to faculty judges.

When our students graduate, they have more than a diploma. They have a Washington State University diploma. That is a profound difference with practical implications: A WSU diploma is honored by employers, respected by colleagues, and gives graduates access to a worldwide network of alumni that includes leaders at some of the world’s largest companies.
