Poznan University of Economics is the only university in Poland to enjoy full academic rights in economic, management and commodity sciences. Education is provided in the form of first-, second- and third-level studies, MBA programmes as well as post-masters degree studies.
The Universitys reputation is built on high educational standards consistent with the worlds latest teaching methods and business trends. To a significant extent, the credit for the Universitys high position in academic rankings goes to its qualified teaching staff. The University employs over five hundred academics, including approximately a hundred and thirty professors. These are highly-qualified educators as well as widely recognized, eminent scientists and business practitioners. Members of the Universitys research personnel sit on various advisory committees, participate in research projects, offer expert opinions, and advise business entities and state agencies. The University has been awarded the following certificates and accreditations confirming that its teaching and research standards comply with the highest academic requirements: accreditation from the State Accreditation Committee for programmes in the faculties of Economics and Management; certificates from the EPOQS Foundation for the Promotion and Accreditation of Economic Education; the ISO 9001:2000 certificate (the only one in Poland) issued by the world-class certification company Det Norske Veritas for the Faculty of Commodity Science; high evaluation by the Scientific Research Committee.
All students have access to the Universitys library, they can use wireless internet anywhere in the University buildings. They can participate in various scholarly circles, take part in the organization of student government or enjoy various events organized by the University. The University offers its students self-catering accommodation in its three halls of residence. They are located not far from the city center, and are well linked with the University by public transportation. All the buildings have recently been refurbished. Most of the rooms are double and equipped with a high-speed Internet connection. Moreover, all students are invited to use the Universitys sports facilities gym, fitness club and a swimming pool.
Pozna´n is an exciting city with many faces a major business and academic center (135,000 students, the whole population of Pozna´n is 551,000) as well as a place rich in historical heritage, varied cultural life and leisure opportunities. The city is located in Western Poland, halfway between Warsaw and Berlin (only 3 hours by train to Berlin and to Warsaw). The city has a lively cultural scene with many theatres, clubs, museums, galleries, an opera house and the State Philharmonic Hall. One of the most famous and most visited festivals is the Malta International Theatre Festival the second largest in Europe, held every year in June and July. Pozna´n also has a lot of green areas numerous parks, a beautiful Botanical Garden, two zoos and a Palm House, Polands largest conservatory. There are four lakes in the city which are used for water sports and leisure activities. Students will find there are many things to do here and they will definitely enjoy their stay in Pozna´n.
