The university offers study programmes, second cycle programmes and a variety of courses in computing and IT, economy and leadership, health and care, teaching and languages, media, the individual and society as well as technology.
Research is conducted within the areas of technology, social science, health and caring sciences and the humanities. Work integrated learning constitutes an important, interdisciplinary, field of research. There is a strong connection between the research conducted at University West and the undergraduate education.
University West is founded on the principle that knowledge is acquired everywhere, not just in institutions of higher learning. Integrating work situations into advanced study programmes – Work Integrated Learning or WIL – exemplifies the important relationship between the academy and the outside world.
Many organisations offer scholarships or grants. Some of these might help you to study for a Master at University West!
In Sweden, on-campus housing is not very common. This option is not available at University West, instead student accommodation for Swedish and international students is arranged by the municipal landlord Eidar. Since student accommodation is very limited, more detailed information will be sent to students once they are admitted to studies at University West.
The modern university library is spread over two floors. There you find more places to study and pleasant reading corners with plenty of light and a splendid view. The library has 45 ordinary computers, text-to-speech synthesis and a computer with headphones where material from the Swedish National Archive of Recorded Sound and Moving Images can be borrowed for research.
The IT Services Office provides services to the entire university. We are responsible for the development and maintenance of the university's IT requirements such as, for example, the computer rooms, networks, and servers, as well as providing support and consulting services to students and staff.
The Studentombud gives support to students and postgraduate students in study related matters. Contact the Studentombud if you feel that you have been subject to an unacceptable behaviour or have been treated badly by the university staff or other students. The Studentombud can offer support during investigations of disciplinary matters, grading and much more.
Our campus is centrally located in Trollhättan and is built with positive collaboration between students and staff in mind as well as between work-life and academia. This contributes to an attractive working environment for all parties.
