Services

  • Reporting to the senior vice president of the Division of Business and Finance, the MTSU Facilities Services Department (FSD) is accountable for providing the maintenance and operation of physical facilities, including mechanical and electrical systems and building maintenance and repairs; utilities for the campus; building construction and renovation; grounds services; custodial services; and their related activities. FSD operates the steam and chiller plants, maintains the utility systems, and provides engineering and energy management support to the university. Other responsibilities include a motor pool, landscaping, and an automotive maintenance shop.
  • Counseling Services offers personal counseling, assisting students in their emotional, intellectual and social growth. We see the whole of the university as an educational opportunity, and although our work primarily involves non-classroom activities, we are equally concerned with students' academic achievement. We provide students with assistance in making life decisions. Services are provided in a non-judgmental and confidential environment.
  • Testing Services provides a variety of testing services to both students and the public.

Student Life

As a student, you should always take full advantage of the opportunities afforded you throughout your college career. One of which is to join or create a student organization, attend a leadership conference, or volunteer at a local agency. Becoming involved in Student Life will provide you with many opportunities for learning outside of the classroom, meeting people from other cultures, challenging yourself with new programs, and meeting people with similar interests. Being involved can help you meet career goals, develop organizational skills and personal interests, and enrich your sense of self-worth. The Student Organizations & Service staff realizes the importance of serving you the student. We want to help you succeed. We are here to serve as resources for all students and help you become successful in your college life

  • Raider Entertainment operates under the MTSU Student Programming & Activities office and is funded through student activities fees. In return, we put the money back into the students' hands through our general council. Events are planned, promoted and implemented by MTSU students with the goal of providing the best entertainment at the lowest cost.
  • We understand that collegiate education outside of the classroom is essential to the well -ounded college student. We know that providing students with individual opportunities to learn and grow experientially complements the great education that students at MTSU receive resulting in balanced and successful graduates. We believe that all programs and experiences we offer are structured to help students make the most of their education at Middle Tennessee State University
  • Throughout each week in the school year, Raider Entertainment presents full length feature films in the Student Union Video Theater. Selections may include current major studio releases, documentaries, cult films, throwback films, and public domain movies.
  • Located on the first floor of the Student Union Building, the Game Room houses pool tables, ping-pong tables, and video game systems. Council members are able to assist in the Game Room by programming special events and tournaments. Additionally, council members may be provided opportunities to work as attendants in the Student Union Game Room, though an external application process is necessary
