Furtwangen University is a small university located in the beautiful Black Forest region of southern Germany. About

History

  • 1852 - Foundation of the "German Clock Museum“ - still a department of the HFU to this day
  • 1863 - Closure of Clockmaker School but vocational school remains
  • 1877 - Re-establishment of the Clockmakers' School and establishment of Wood-carving School
  • 1891 - Completion of new building and introduction of new three-year educational model

The Information and Media Centre at Furtwangen University comprises the Libraries, Computer Services, Learning Services and Online Services.The Information and Media Centre aims to better coordinate and integrate these key facilities to enhance the transparency and quality of the services and increase customer satisfaction.
