Discover the top reasons to study at Nicolaus Copernicus University Collegium Medicum in Bydgoszcz
Medical specialists are undoubtedly in constant demand all over the world, so there are many career paths open to our graduates. With this in mind, we have developed medical programmes that comprehensively prepare our students for professional practice. The strength of NCU Collegium Medicum lies primarily in the high level of the teaching staff, which translates into creditable results of our students. Our curricula have been created by medical professionals and put equal emphasis on theoretical knowledge and practical skills to be gained during each of our study programmes. Collegium Medicum is the youngest and the smallest public medical university in Poland, which constitutes its major advantage our philosophy rests on an individual-focused approach to teaching and a constant development of the student-teacher partnership. The relatively small number of students combined with the broad access to hospitals and clinics gives our students a unique opportunity to make the most of their work placements.
Collegium Medicum is the only public medical university in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Region, offering a wide variety of programmes provided by three faculties: Medicine, Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
We offer fifteen medical study programs, including three conducted entirely in English – Medicine, Nursing and Physiotherapy. Courses are taught by professional researchers and highly skilled practitioners working in various areas of medicine. Our curricula include a wide range of subjects covering different medical specialties as well as work placements allowing students to develop practical skills essential for future practice.
We collaborate with two University Hospitals, serving the purposes of education, science, research and specialised medical, diagnostic and rehabilitation services, as well as many other specialty clinics and health care centres in Bydgoszcz.
Our graduates receive a university qualification certifying their skills in solving medical problems related to diagnosis and treatment in accordance with the fundamentals of contemporary knowledge based on scientific evidence, as well as knowledge in such areas as basic medical sciences, preventive health care, management and functioning of health care systems, or patient rights and professional ethics.

There are also two departments providing assistance to our international students: the Department of International Programmes and Cooperation with Industry for Erasmus+ exchange students and the Centre for Medical Education in English for the students of our full-degree programmes in English. The Centre was established as a separate department for students of the MD Programme in English and has been expanding ever since. The unit administers programmes in English and supports international students in matters concerning both their studies and their stay in Poland. Most of our didactic buildings are grouped into two major campuses situated in the heart of the city of Bydgoszcz.
