About

History

Colorado State University–Pueblo has evolved from a three-room junior college on the third floor of the Pueblo County Courthouse. Over the past 75 years under four different names, the institution has graduated more than 35,000 students from 41 states and 32 countries. Today, more than 14,000 graduates live in Colorado.

Research

The mission of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs is to facilitate, advocate and coordinate support for research and sponsored projects while ensuring institutional integrity for compliance of project activities that align with the University’s mission, policies, fiduciary responsibilities, laws, and ethical conduct.

Student services

Auxiliary Services provides dining and vending services, rental space, housing and childcare facilities, coordination of conference arrangements, and management of the Occhiato University Center, including the Colorado State University-Pueblo bookstore. Serving both the University’s internal and external public, Auxiliary Services supports the University’s strategic planning goals and objectives in its general operation focus of excellence, intellectual and civic engagement, creative functions and environment, information access, campus life enhancement and positive service.

Student Life

Campus life

The campus architecture style was called "Modern Aztec" by the designers in 1963. The unique architecture of the buildings earned a national award by the American Institute of Architects. Most campus buildings reflect the International Style of the 1960s. Today, there are 18 buildings, numerous baseball and softball fields, a soccer/lacrosse complex, and the Neta & Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl. These include an administration building, student center, library, child care center and student recreation center which is adjacent to the university's primary athletic complex, Massari Arena.

Sports facilities

Colorado State University-Pueblo boasts some of the finest facilities in all of NCAA Division II.  Recently athletic expansion has ushered in a new era for ThunderWolf Athletics, as the addition of the 6,500-seat Neta and Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl (2008), the 3,900-seat Massari Arena and the Art & Lorraine Gonzales Soccer/Lacrosse Stadium (2016) were added as crown jewels to the on-site baseball and softball complexes.

Student clubs

Student organizations play an integral role in the educational and social life on campus at CSU-Pueblo. Recognized student organizations demonstrate a close affiliation with the university and share a common vision in the promotion of extra-curricular and co-curricular missions of the university. There are several categories of student organizations, including: academic, cultural, honor, specific interest, athletic, and more.
