SPbU Campus comprises 21 halls of residence, with 12 located in Petrodvortsovy District of St. Petersburg, 8 in Vasileostrovsky District of St. Petersburg and 1 in Nevsky District of St. Petersburg.Currently SPbU provides approximately 12,800 places in its halls of residence.All accommodation is furnished for living and studying; the halls have laundry facilities, cafes, canteens, shops, gyms and fitness facilities, and ATMs. All rooms have Internet access.
The Gorky Scientific Library which was founded in the middle of the 18th century, is an important part of St.-Petersburg State University. In terms of diversity of its collection, this library is one of the most extensive among University libraries. It has 6,9 millions of books, subscription to all basic world electronic databases and collections of rare books.
In Saint-Petersburg there are several kinds of public transport: trolleybus, tram, bus, metro. To go by metro you should buy a token for one trip or a special card for one or several trips. In trolleybuses, buses or trams you should make a payment for your trip to a special person called "Konduktor". As a student you can buy a student's travel card for all kinds of public transport.There are also plenty of shuttle-buses in Saint-Petersburg that can take you to any place of the city. In shuttle-buses you can't use your student's card and you are to make your payment to the driver. If you want to get off the shuttle-bus, you should ask the driver in advance to stop where you need.
