The fair's Pink Monday is the biggest gay-themed event in The Netherlands.

An Entrepreneurial City

Today, healthcare is Tilburg's biggest industry in terms of employment (19.3% of the labor population). Other important industries are trade, transportation, logistics, distribution, chemicals and metallurgy. Over the past two decades, Tilburg has attracted a cluster of creative, design, communication and other innovative service companies that continue to grow. Villa Media is a well-known cluster of multimedia enterprises, located in an old manor downtown. Due to the stunning natural surroundings, the hotel, restaurant and tourism industry is well-developed, and makes up a large share of the local economy, far above the national average.
