ISCTE Business School aims to play an increasing role in a global European network for the exchange of students, knowledge and experiences. We are fully committed to building an international dimension into our academic programs, research activities and institutional networks. We have links with institutions on all the continents that we want to strengthen. Being a bridge from Europe to the world is not only part of our mission, but a legacy from our history, culture and geographical position as well, and a major contribution that we want to add to our European partnerships and shared projects.
In the world we live, adopting a global perspective, particularly in the fields of Management and Business, has become an absolute necessity. ISCTE Business School wants to play an active role by offering Programmes aimed at an international audience and by promoting the exchange of students and staff. We believe that this exchange contributes to the personal, cultural and professional enrichment of the ones involved, leads to a more capable university and also, through the increased mutual understanding, to a better world to live in.
With the University Residency Professor José Pinto Peixoto, the Lisbon University Institute (ISCTE-IUL) meets some of the accomodation needs of its visiting students.
The Residence is located in the Monastery of Santos-o-Novo (17th century) - wich is classified as National Monument - on a small hill by the river Tagus, in Lisbons east end, the residence benefits from a priveleged view and is a short distance from the central railway station of Santa Apolónia, the typical neighbourhood of Alfama, downtown Lisbon, Terreiro do Paço, and also close to the new residential, commercial and service area of Parque das Nações.
The ISCTE-IUL library provides a service to all, departments and schools of the Institute in the fields of Social Science, Business Studies and Technological Sciences. The collection consists of around 56,000 titles (including monographs, reference works, theses and dissertations) and 17,000 periodicals available in paper and digitally.
