In 2016, Brunel celebrates 50 years as a university. However, our history can be traced back much further to 1798 through our predecessor colleges of Borough Road College, Maria Grey College, Shoreditch College and the West London Institute of Higher Education and as well as through Acton Technical College then Brunel College
Brunel has a long tradition of producing graduates who are ready for work. For many years, all of our programmes included a compulsory placement year in industry, but now we complement the option to gain work experience - in the UK or overseas - with a comprehensive array of support and programmes to prepare you for your future.
Brunel's world class research has now been organised into three Institutes and 15 Themes working on addressing global challenges through the adoption of inter-disciplinary methodologies.
The Professional Development Centre has a dedicated team of Careers Consultants who work with students throughout their time at Brunel as well as up to two years after they graduate to identify potential career options and to successfully navigate the recruitment process.
The Student Centre, located on the ground floor of the Bannerman Centre (library), provides a range of administrative services and support to all students; from registration and re-enrolement, through course duration to graduation and former students. The Student Centre should be your first port of call for any administrative enquiries.
