Founded in 1994, the School of Advanced Study at the University of London is the only institution in the UK that is nationally funded to promote and facilitate research in the humanities.
We offer full- and part-time postgraduate programmes (MA, MRes, LLM, MPhil and PhD)Our students benefit from our collaborative research environment and opportunities to participate in our extensive programme of events, research training, and networks. Graduates are awarded a University of London degree.

The institute libraries of the School together with the Senate House Library form Senate House Libraries, one of the world's most significant collections in the arts, humanities, and social sciences.

The institutes benefit from the participation of visiting researchers and guest speakers working in government, diplomacy, business and development, the cultural and heritage industries, and other universities from around the world
