Housing services

  • Leuven is a small but lively city with a population of about 46 000 students. Student life is fully integrated into the local community.
  • Leuven offers a wide range of housing options at reasonable prices. Most KU Leuven-students stay in individual rooms with shared facilities in houses on the local private housing market.
  • Housing in university residence halls or dorms is limited.
  • Assistance with all housing issues is provided by the University Housing Service.

Library services

The different library collections contain up to 200,000 volumes, most of which are available on open shelves, and continue to be adapted to accomodate the different faculties. The library has general collections collections as well, such as the Library of the French Netherlands and an archive that consists of old and collector's editions.

ICT services

The reading rooms are equipped with internet access and power outlets for laptops. There is wireless (WIFI) Internet access available in the entire library.You can print directly from your PC on one of the copy machines in the library.There are two information screens in the library. The one in the cloak room provides general information and current library-related announcements.

Campus life

The city of Leuven is an agglomeration of five communities: Leuven, Heverlee, Kessel-Lo, Wilsele and Wijgmaal. Leuven has approximately 90,000 inhabitants. Add to these the 35,000 post-secondary and 11,000 secondary school students and it should come as no surprise that the streets are filled with young faces and that the city lives at a student's rhythm: hectic weeks at the beginning of the academic year and relative calm during vacation and examination periods.
