The metropolitan area's competiveness and future industry cooperation require constant knowledge renewal and development. Research, development and innovation are part of the basic mission of our university of applied sciences. We focus on development and innovation activities, as well as supporting research, for the benefit of the Helsinki metropolitan area.

Our strengths are high-quality expertise in different fields, the implementation of ideas into practice and the fine-tuning of solutions so that they meet customer needs. These strengths are served by the multidisciplinary nature of our operations, the abundance of competent people at the UAS and our open international cooperation network.

There are approximately 16 000 students studying business, culture, technology and health care and social services at Metropolia.

Thesis, work placement and different projects provide an excellent opportunity for the employer to get to know the future experts in a flexible way. There are also employer presentations at the campuses and students attend various fairs and events.

Career Services also offers meeting forums for employers and students in social media, the career and recruitment service of the Finnish universities of applied sciences.

Housing services

Most the students who come to study at Metropolia live in the housing foundation HOASs apartments. HOAS rents accomodation for anyone undertaking full-time studies in a secondary level educational institution or university. Part of HOASs accommodation is reserved for international exchange students and researchers.

The library of the Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences consists of several campus libraries with collections that complement each other. In addition to the eight Metropolia libraries, you can use the services of our two partner libraries.

Hoas properties are divided into campus areas for different schools. Each campus area has several options for families, friends, and students applying alone. HOAS offers the housign according the students university campus area or within good traffic connections to the university.
