The WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management is a private business school founded in 1984. The school is located in Vallendar, a small city near Koblenz. The school sees its mission as the education of global managers and entrepreneurs, and its programs have an international focus. Over the past twenty years WHU has established a worldwide network of around 200 partner universities worldwide. The school was the first German university to receive EQUIS accreditation, and is now also accredited ny FIBAA and AACSB. In October 2012 WHU opened its second campus in Düsseldorf. In the future, WHU will have two locations from which to provide new direction to German business education and in particular to management education.

History

WHU was founded in 1984 at the initiative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Koblenz. After more than 30 years, it is not only counted among the best and most respected centers of business education in Germany, but it also enjoys an excellent reputation internationally.

Student services

In Praxi offers an array of services and events. Although these are intended primarily for members, there are also opportunities for businesses to partner with In Praxi.

  • True to its motto (Keep in Touch!), In Praxi organizes more than 100 events each year. A significant number of these take place in the regional chapters.

Housing services

Library services

The library holds around 45,000 books and 185 journals. They can be researched via an online catalogue. Students are provided with reference sections of basic readings in their courses. The library's reading room offers a quiet atmosphere for studying newspapers or for concentrating on a specific academic publication.

The In Praxi network increases in both quantity and quality with every graduating class at WHU, thanks to its members’ diverse personal backgrounds and chosen career paths. Our international diversity is steadily increasing, as well.

Student Life

Campus life

Our campus life is characterized by its family-like atmosphere. As early as the student-led orientation week for new students, you get to know your classmates and the students from the upper classes. The solidarity and clannishness among our students shapes the entire time at WHU and remains the same even after graduation.

Sports facilities

Sports enthusiasts in Vallendar can take advantage of the three tennis clubs with outdoor courts, an indoor tennis court, the local canoe club, a mini-golf course, an angling club, a soccer field, equestrian stabling facilities and an almost Olympic-size swimming pool in beautiful surroundings. Just a few kilometers away in Höhr-Grenzhausen, are squash courts and a riding school. The sports program offered by WHU includes all courses at WHU Gym, soccer, basketball and volleyball. Students at WHU can also take part in courses offered by the Koblenz university sports program, which means that there are more than 20 different sports open to them.

Student clubs

WHU is a people business. Here at WHU we don't focus on products, but people – students, researchers, employees. As part of this, as at every higher education institution, the academic staff play a particularly important role. In fact, they could be considered the heart of WHU. The academic staff embody the business school’s core mission in teaching, research, and practice.
