The TU Braunschweig (English: "Braunschweig University of Technology") is the oldest University of Technology in Braunschweig, Germany. It was founded in 1745 as Collegium Carolinum and is a member of TU9, an incorporated society of the most renowned and largest German Institutes of Technology. Today it has about 13,000 students, making it the third largest university in Lower Saxony. Research projects include Micro Air Vehicles, hybrid engines, and Digital Video Broadcasting.



The Bachelors/Masters system comprises two levels: you begin you studies with a Bachelors course and may follow it up with a Masters programme.


TU Braunschweig focuses on the following strategic research fields:
