Four core values
The schools project is based on four values embodying our vision of design:
A diversity of design curriculums, a strong link with business and industry
An institution rooted in its territory and open to the world
Since 1998, L'École de design Nantes Atlantique has been located on the technological campus Atlanpole La Chantrerie, in the North-eastern area of Nantes (France), housed in a custom-built facility thanks to the support of local authorities (Nantes Saint-Nazaire Chamber of commerce and industry, the Pays de la Loire regional authorities, the Loire-Atlantique area local council). The only design institution in western France, the school benefits from a unique regional situation. For ten years now, it has proactively followed an outward-looking international development policy: academic exchange programs, participation in the international network Cumulus, opening of its first foreign subsidiary in China, now in Shanghai ("China Campus") and partnership with Srishti School of Art, Design & Technology in Bangalore, India.
L'École de design Nantes Atlantique is an active member of various academic networks and professional organizations: Conférence des Grandes Écoles (top-tier French higher education institutions), PRES (Higher Education and Research Clusters) of the Universities of Nantes, Angers and Le Mans, CampusFrance (the French national agency for the promotion of higher education, international student services and mobility)... For many years, its students have been awarded prizes in prestigious competitions. The successful careers pursued by our graduates is a good proof of the quality of our teaching methods.
L'École de design Nantes Atlantique is established on the high-tech cluster of La Chantrerie in Nantes (France), alongside companies and engineering schools: École des Mines, École polytechnique de lUniversité de Nantes, École Supérieure du Bois, École Nationale Vétérinaire and ICAM (Institut Catholique des Arts et Métiers)
This business cluster dedicated to research and industry is a hotbed for prospective research where education instutions work hand in hand with a number of industrial partners while striving to offer career-oriented quality curriculums.
L'École de design Nantes Atlantique is also established abroad. In 2008, we opened a subsidiary institution in Qingdao, China, which is now in Shanghai. in September 2010, a similar program has started in India, jointly run with Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology (Bangalore).
