The name "Audencia" is blend of two Latin words: audientia, which means "to listen" or “to hear”, and audacia, which means "boldness" or “daring”.In the 1900's the city of Nantes establishes the École Supérieure de Commerce de Nantes. Mr Emile Loubet, the eighth president of France, signs an executive order granting the institution status as a state-recognised business school.
