Education

Studies in Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences lead to a higher education degree equipping the graduates with the resources to take on responsible tasks in working life.

SeAMK offers:

- 19 bachelor level degree programmes

- 2 degree programmes, International Business and Nursing, totally taught in English language

- 17 bachelor degree programmes taught mostly in Finnish language

- 7 master level degree programmes

- 1 master level degree programme, International Business Management, totally taught in English language

- SeAMK also offers programmes for exchange students in all faculties

The academic year has two semesters: from September to December and from January to May.

Research

Research and development activities as well as cooperation networks bring significant added value for students as well as companies and other organisations in the area.

Student services

The Student Services of SeAMK handles issues pertaining to student applications and selection, financial aid, student study rights and studying in general, as well as counselling and consultation pertaining to student affairs administration.

Student Life

Campus life

The operations of SeAMK are mainly located on three campuses.

The Frami area, the main campus of SeAMK, serves some 3,000 students. The fields of education on Frami campus include technology, business, catering and domestic services, culture and social services.

Of the other campuses, Koskenala campus has some 600 health care students and Ilmajoki campus some 400 students in the field of natural resources. In addition, SeAMK has units also in other municipalities through the Regional Higher Education Center. These units offer multiform adult education in the Cities of Alajärvi, Kauhajoki, Kauhava, Kurikka and Ähtäri.

Sports facilities

The gym in Frami Campus is free of charge for students of SeAMK. Student Union SAMO organizes all kinds of sport activities for students for 5–10 euros per semester. These activities include for example floorball, ice hockey, instructed group exercises, yoga, basketball, kettlebell workouts and volleyball.

Student clubs

The student union of Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences (SAMO) is an association established and run by the students. The union’s diverse objectives range from monitoring the standard of instruction and networking with the Finnish Government to organizing student parties and other leisure time activities. A special social programme is available for international students organised together with the staff of international office and the different schools of SeAMK.
