Malmö University was founded in 1998 and is a young, modern and international university. It has about 24,400 students and offers undergraduate and postgraduate education.


The Swedish Higher Education Authority has evaluated Malmö University’s technical educational programmes. Most programmes have received the mark ”Very high quality” or ”High quality”.


Malmö University’s mission is to be an active hub for research, education and innovation that benefit a global society. The activities of Malmö University are centred on the major challenges in our society today and we strive to become a university open to the world around us. Hence, our research is often multidisciplinary and is frequently pursued in collaboration with partners from outside the university.

Library services

There are computers with assistive technology software installed at Malmö University's libraries. The assistive technology available includes screen readers, scanners, spellchecking and text enlargement software. We also help you to borrow course literature as talking books.

ICT services

There are several options for Internet in Sweden, contact your landlord to see which options that are available for you at your accommodation. An alternative is mobile internet (USB modem) which students use quite frequently.

Medical services

There is a telephone service where you can receive health care advice quickly and easily. We generally advise students who are unwell to call this service on 1177.
