The international orientation of the university focuses both on research as well as teaching activities. The Faculty of Economics has recently launched a first-level degree program in Global Economy and Business which is completely taught in English.

About

History

The University of Cassino was established in 1979. Because of its geographical position, the University is now a meeting point for the regions of southern Lazio, Campania and Molise.

Education

The university counts five faculties - Economics, Engineering, Arts and philosophy, Law, and Sport Sciences - 12,000 students, 336 faculty members, 13 departments, and 47 laboratories. It also counts 345 staff members, spread between Cassino and the branch campuses of Sora, Atina, Frosinone and Terracina. Students can choose from 18 first-cycle degree programs, 14 second-cycle degree programs, one single-cycle degree program, 10 master degree programs and 8 doctoral degree programs.

Research at the University takes place within 5 departments:

The about 330 researchers work at a scientific production in constant growth, both quantitatively and qualitatively. Several are the European projects funded at different levels (Framework Programmes, European Science Foundation, European Social Fund) as well as research projects of national interest.

Career

The University center for recruitment and counseling (C.U.Ori) is one of the service centers of the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio. The center supports, advices, and carries out counseling activities for future and current students.

Housing services

The town of Cassino is a university town. Therefore, it might be difficult to find an accommodation once the academic year has started. The accommodation service for international students is provided by LAZIODISU, the student service office of the University of Cassino whose main building is located on Via Garigliano in Cassino. Please contact the Agenzia degli Affitti office at your earliest convenience.

Library services

The University Library System (SBA) coordinates and manages all libraries of the University of Cassino. The Portal of the University Library System enables users to easily access a wide range of printed and digital resources. The library system consists of three Library Service Centers (CSB), organized in three main academic areas: law and economics, engineering, and arts and philosophy.

ICT services

The Computer Center of the University (CASI) is responsible for all matters related to Information Technology (IT), from the Internet to the official website of the University. CASI also manages the telephone network of the University. The center is currently focusing on the reorganization of the computer facilities and procedures of the central administration.

Student Life

Campus life

The University of Cassino and Southern Lazio covers a large and independent area completely devoted to the Campus activities. Facilities for teaching and learning as well as leisure and sports are hosted here. 200 new residences are available since the academic year 2014-2015, and 100 more will be added starting from 2016.The University Campus is connected to the city center by a bus shuttle service. Each day more than 2.000 people visit the University area, which is also equipped with a canteen.

Sports facilities

The multipurpose sports fields and the 400 sqm gym are an integral part of the Campus, designed to create a relaxing environment.
