Founded on the 1st of May 2009, Rhine-Waal University began study activities in the Winter Semester 2009/2010 with the first three courses of study offered already in September 2009.

The Rhine-Waal University offers degree programmes at two campus-sites in Kleve and Kamp-Lintfort. Until the move to the new buildings in Kleve in the winter term 2012/13 Emmerich acts as an interim location. At all sites students will find everything close together: modern teaching and laboratory facilities, research center, libraries,language centers, dining halls and dormitories.

Services

HOUSING

We strongly recommend that you make arrangements for accommodation in Kleve, Emmerich or Kamp-Lintfort before you arrive. The university does not have dormitories, but the Deutsche Studentenwerk or Student Service Organization in Düsseldorf has dorm style single rooms and double rooms for rent in Emmerich and Kamp-Lintfort.

Single rooms and double rooms are 230,- per month. Please note that there is a 2-months deposit. Availability at the dormitories of the Studentenwerk is limited. You may apply for a room online:

We offer different sports and sporting activities at our sites for all staff andstudents at the Rhine-Waal University.

Student life

The cities of Kleve, Emmerich and Kamp-Lintfort and the surrounding areas offer university members an especially interesting and appealing environment. The two regions unite natural scenic beauty with diverse cultural and leisure possibilities, and the potential for a wide-ranging student way of life. At the same time, both regions are near large urban centers in the Rhineland, allowing numerous large cities, each with its own special flair, to be reached from Kleve and Emmerich as well as from Kamp-Lintfort within 60 to 90 minutes of travel time.

As a result, students at Rhine-Waal University are offered the attractiveness of a fascinating natural setting with the benefits of close proximity to major urban areas. Characterized by a strong international focus, as expressed through collaborations with foreign universities and international companies, guests visiting from throughout the world, along with the orientation of the studies offered, the college where the Rhine and Waal Rivers meet is even more characterized by the studies offered in the English language. In this manner, academic studies at Rhine-Waal University prepare students for pursuits throughout the modern globalized world from the Lower Rhine to America, or even on to Asia.
