DITs work in pioneering research is the reason for many collaborations with both local and international business and industry. This research is undertaken by staff and students in the labs of our seven technology centres dotted around Deggendorf, often with the support of additional research partners throughout Europe. The Deggendorf Institute of Technology is one of the most successful universities in the German area, as shown by appropriate placements in university rankings.Eight technology and healthcare campus have been established in the neighboring counties of Cham, rain, Freyung-Grafenau, Rottal-Inn and Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen since 2009.
The majority of DITs international students live in the ten student apartment blocks, which are within easy walking distance of campus and all other amenities in town. Most of these flats are in student parks which are attractive low level apartment blocks consisting of small, modern and newly built flats for single occupation, although other options are available.
The main campus in Deggendorf is based around a modern, central courtyard with water features and a hovering deck, where staff and students enjoy the relaxed atmosphere whilst having lunch, socializing, revising or just hanging-out. A range of events are held in the campus courtyard every year, with the largest being a popular summer open-air music festival. Most importantly, all 6 faculties and all service centres for our 5700 students are based on our compact campus, creating an open, friendly and communicative environment among staff, students and professors. The Campus is within easy walking distance of town centre, student accommodation and all local amenities.
DIT ranks among the top universities of applied sciences in Germany. All undergraduate and postgraduate courses are fully accredited to international standards either by ASIIN e.V or FIBAA.
