Université du Droit et de la Santé Lille 2 or Lille 2 University of Health and Law is in France. It is one of the largest universities in Europe. The University was found in 1559 in Douai the Faculties of Law and Medicine by Philip II of Spain. The Combined Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy was found in 1876 in Lille. Four major faculties Arts, Sciences, Law and Medicine were created in 1896.
There were 28,330 students in 2009/2010 session. The university has 90 student associations, 1198 teachers and lecturers, 924 staff engineers, administrative and technical, 51 laboratories and research teams associated with the INSERM and CNRS. Four wide sports complexes, two synthetic pitches, a grass rugby pitch, two grass football pitches, a football field in shale, 9 outdoor tennis courts, six indoor tennis courts, a BMX field, a skate park, two running tracks, a climbing wall, a pool of 375 m2, one room dedicated to circus arts, three weight rooms, four ballrooms, three gyms, a sports gym , a combat room, a dojo, a table tennis room, four gyms, a bowling alley. The university has a large library with vast collection of 150 000 volumes of French and foreign books, 85,000 volumes of theses, 580 titles of periodicals French paper in progress, 506 foreign periodical titles in paper courses, 23,000 electronic periodical titles , 25 databases French and foreign, 90 computer stations.
