Ideally situated halfway between Geneva and Zürich, in the centre of Europe, the University of Neuchâtel (UniNE) is the perfect place to follow a complete curriculum or undertake high-level research in a splendid location between mountain and lake. UniNE is not an enclosed campus : students and researchers alike live and work in the heart of the city in several different but nearby sites; this helps to establish a unique feeling of solidarity and exchange amongst students, in particular between beginners and more experienced ones.

Founded in 1838, the Academy of Neuchâtel was later renamed University in 1909. Nowadays it is composed of five faculties - the Humanities, Science, Law, Economics and Theology - within which more than 40 disciplines are taught.

A human-scaled institution, the University of Neuchatel offers an exceptional ratio of supervision and welcomes more than 4000 students from Switzerland and abroad (25% of the total) each year.
