Student services

At St. John’s, we believe that giving back to the community teaches us lessons that can only be learned by serving, lessons that deepen our faith. This is why we see faith and service as inextricably connected; while faith inspires the service we do, it is still nurtured by service.

Library services

The St. John's University Libraries commit themselves to the teaching and learning processes by providing content-based information resources, instructional services, and other support in the most effective formats for University programs and student and faculty research.

Medical services

We offer free and confidential services to all students on the Queens and Staten Island campuses. You can get treated for minor illnesses and injuries. If there is a need for any additional testing, such as X-rays or blood work, will can assist you in finding an off-campus local health provider.

Student Life

Campus life

  • The Queens campus features broad lawns, handsome stone buildings and ultramodern student residence halls. Facilities include high-tech laboratory and classroom buildings; the main collections of our 1.7 million-volume Library; and state-of-the-art athletic facilities for students and our BIG EAST, Division I athletic teams.
  • Staten Island Campus Life is not limited to new students. We hope that students will continue to be involved in campus activities throughout their college career. Our Campus Life activities ensure that there is never a dull moment on campus! This year, we added a campus Movie, Fitness, and NYC Theatre Broadway Show Series - Broadway plays are offered at discount.

Sports facilities

In 1907, the St. John’s men’s basketball team took to the court as the University’s first collegiate athletic team. Today, over a century later, St. John’s has built a storied tradition, sponsoring 17 NCAA Division I intercollegiate teams. You’ll find the Johnnies (as they’re popularly known) competing in the NBA, WNBA, MLB, MLS, PGA, and MLL —and moving on to meaningful careers in business, education, law, medicine, and more. In class or on the playing courts and fields, St. John’s athletics is synonymous with success.
