The University of New York in Prague (UNYP) was established in April 1998 in cooperation with the State University of New York, New Paltz, and the State University of New York Empire State College. This cooperation enables UNYP to offer students the opportunity to obtain an internationally recognized American bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York.
UNYP is a private university with over 800 students from more than 60 countries which make for a very diverse and international community. Students have access not only to modern and well-equipped campus facilities, but also to Prague’s many cultural attractions and events.
UNYP students have free access to a fully-equipped fitness center and swimming pool. There are also numerous student sports clubs and teams, including football, basketball, volleyball and running. New sports clubs initiated by students are always welcomed.
Student Services Center and academic advisors are located in the building, providing easy access to information and advice if students need it at any time.
UNYP is recognized by the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports as a private higher education institution. Currently, four bachelor's degree programs are accredited by the Ministry of Education and lead to the award of a bakalár (bachelor's) degree from UNYP: Business Administration, Communication & Mass Media, European Business Administration, and International Economic Relations.
