Brunel University London

London, England, United Kingdom
Brunel University London is a world-class university based in Uxbridge, West London, and was established in 1966. Our mission has always been to combine academic rigour with the practical, entrepreneurial and imaginative approach pioneered by our namesake Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

Our history can be traced back to 1798. Through investment, redevelopment and modernisation, Brunel University London has changed dramatically to become the campus it is today.

  • Brunel is a campus-based university with courses spanning a whole range of subjects, so virtually everything you need is within moments of where you live and study.
  • Brunel's strong research ethos feeds directly into our taught and research programmes, ensuring that the university’s course content remains as up-to-date as possible.
  • Many of Brunel’s innovative university courses are accredited by professional institutions, which are recognised by employers, and offer membership or exemption towards further study.

Brunel University London is firmly within the top quarter of research universities in the UK according to REF 2014, with a number of areas of study including public health, sports science, design, politics, and environmental and earth sciences, recognised as world-leading or internationally excellent for research impact.

Brunel’s research continues to increase our understanding of the world through:

  • Institute of Materials and Manufacturing – Improving the performance of materials and structures
  • Institute of Environment, Health, and Societies – Improving our environments, health and wellbeing and promoting social justice
  • Institute of Energy Futures – Improving energy usage and reducing greenhouse gas emissions

We seek to develop graduates that meet and exceed the expectations, needs and wants of recruiters, giving our students the best possible chance of securing jobs in their desired industries. At Brunel we believe that your career doesn’t begin when you graduate. It begins on your first day here with:

  • The Professional Development Centre
  • Part-time work
  • The Job Shop (a section of the PDC) assists students in finding part-time and vacation work to fit around their degree.
