The Student Life team lives the mission of the University through both serving and helping our students serve others. As educators in the Jesuit tradition, we believe in educating the "whole" person; we are concerned with the life of the mind, as well as the body and the spirit. We facilitate programs, services and experiences that will help as a "whole" person and become a leader who is critically reflective and socially and personally responsible.
Saint Louis University strongly encourages those seeking housing to consider living with a host family. Students living with a host family have the opportunity to be immersed in Spanish language and culture on a daily basis. This is often one of the most rewarding experiences students have outside of the University in Madrid.
Library: Students at SLU-Madrid have access to the vast collection of electronic resources and databases owned by Saint Louis University. The Madrid library's collection holds over 10,000 volumes that support specific course and research needs in Madrid.
SLU-Madrid does not have a medical center on campus. Its Student Life staff as well as its counselors, however, may serve as liaisons between students and doctors, even going with them to hospital or to different practitioners when needed.

Our sports director, César Rioja, is an avid advocate for exercise: to remain focused on your studies, you need to take breaks, and physical activity involved in playing a sport is his ideal. Our fine and performing arts faculty feel the same; they'd invite you to sign up for a Latin Dance class or join the Concert Choir. SLU-Madrid has its own dance studio and music practice rooms, and our students perform in recitals, concerts and plays throughout the semester.
