ESLI partners with universities in the U.S. and Canada to offer students premiere language instruction and university preparation  in order to achieve full admission to their  field of study.  ESLI partner universities offer conditional admission to  students which means that students who complete the ESLI language program do not have to take the TOEFL or IELTS exam.


ESLI offers conditional admission to hundreds of degree programs at the associate's, bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels.  Scholarship opportunities are also available for qualifying students.

WKU's Full-time Master of Business Administration now ranks in the top 20% in the US (2013). The full-time program joins the professional (PMBA) program as a top US program for learning. Western Kentucky University's excellent faculty, talented students, and applied curriculum are leading to great outcomes. MBA programs across the US have their graduating students take the nationally standardized "MBA Major Field" exam each year to see how their programs rank. It is the only objective-based test for MBA learning.

English Language Requirements

You only need to take one of these language tests:

    The IELTS – or the International English Language Test System – tests your English-language abilities (writing, listening, speaking, and reading) on a scale of 1.00–9.00. The minimum IELTS score requirement refers to which Overall Band Score you received, which is your combined average score. Read more about IELTS.

    The TOEFL – or Test OF English as a Foreign Language – offers a paper-based test (PBT). The final, overall PBT score ranges between 310 and 677, and is based on an average taken from the three test components (listening, structure, and reading).     The TOEFL – or Test Of English as a Foreign Language – offers an internet-based test (iBT). The final, overall iBT score ranges between 0 and 120, and includes a scaled average from the four components (reading, listening, speaking, and writing). Read more about TOEFL (iBT).

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 2.7

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 2.7 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

  • You need the following GMAT score:

    Required score: 500

    The GMAT - or Graduate Management Admission Test - is a frequent requirement for admission at management and business schools across the world. The GMAT score ranges between 200 and 800 and measures the verbal and quantitative reasoning of test-takers. Read more about the GMAT.

  • Undergraduate GPA of 2.75
  • GMAT Score of 500
  • Written GMAT of 3.5
  • GAP Exception: You may be considered if you have a GAP score of 1100 (GMAT + (GPA x 200))
  • Applicants who have earned an undergraduate degree in business from an AACSB accredited university with a GPA of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale are not required to take the GMAT.
