English Language Requirements

    The IELTS – or the International English Language Test System – tests your English-language abilities (writing, listening, speaking, and reading) on a scale of 1.00–9.00.     The TOEFL – or Test OF English as a Foreign Language – offers a paper-based test (PBT). The final, overall PBT score ranges between 310 and 677, and is based on an average taken from the three test components (listening, structure, and reading).     The TOEFL – or Test Of English as a Foreign Language – offers an internet-based test (iBT). The final, overall iBT score ranges between 0 and 120, and includes a scaled average from the four components (reading, listening, speaking, and writing). Read more about TOEFL (iBT).

Academic Requirements

What you need

  • A World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT) approved program (four-year undergraduate or equivalent).
  • A minimum B average (3.0 GPA) in the last 20 half credits of your occupational therapy degree.
  • Be qualified to practice occupational therapy.
Additional information
  • Priority will be given if you have an entry-level baccalaureate or master’s degree in occupational therapy.
  • If you have a diploma in occupational therapy, you may be eligible if you can provide strong evidence of experience or advanced study in theory and research.
  • You must satisfy the general requirements for admission to the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
  • Preference will be given if you can demonstrate academic excellence, leadership experience, strong references and knowledge of current trends in occupational therapy.
  • You do not need work experience to apply for this program.
Admission Requirements
  • Four-year Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 (B average) in the last 60 credit hours of study
  • Degree granted by university of recognized standing
