The Master Degree in Product-Service-System Design is offered by Politecnico Di Milano. The programme aims at training highly qualified designers who may deal with the complexity of a product-service system (PSS), that is an integrated blend of products, of communication strategies, of services and of spaces. 


The Master Degree in Product-Service-System Design is offered by Politecnico Di Milano. PSS designers will be trained to work in team, to collaborate with experts and professionals from other fields, to broker different languages and to work in highly competitive international contexts. The programme develops in the participants the skills to creatively conceive and to manage integrated product, service, event and communication strategies, by using a wide design toolkit and by employing basics of project management, supply chain management, sustainability, anthropology and ethnography, communications and media. PSSD students have the possibility to apply for the double degree programme at Tongji University (Shanghai) or for the internal double degree with Management Engineering at Politecnico di Milano.

Career opportunities for the graduate in Product Service Systems Design are within the traditional design industry, as well as in service design, in retail design, in brand design, in art direction, in trend analysis, in UX design and research.

            English Language Requirements

            • Minimum required score:


              The IELTS – or the International English Language Test System – tests your English-language abilities (writing, listening, speaking, and reading) on a scale of 1.00–9.00.               The CAE test – or the Cambridge Advanced English – is an exam for applicants who wish to get a Certificate in Advanced English. To receive the Advanced certificate, test-takers must score between 142 and 210 on the Cambridge English: Advanced test. Read more about CAE.

            • Minimum required score:


              The TOEFL – or Test OF English as a Foreign Language – offers a paper-based test (PBT). The final, overall PBT score ranges between 310 and 677, and is based on an average taken from the three test components (listening, structure, and reading).               The TOEFL – or Test Of English as a Foreign Language – offers an internet-based test (iBT). The final, overall iBT score ranges between 0 and 120, and includes a scaled average from the four components (reading, listening, speaking, and writing). Read more about TOEFL (iBT).

            Academic Requirements

            Students holding a Bachelor of Art or a Bachelor degree in Design or a relevant post-graduate work experience with design background are eligible for application. The candidate is required to provide a portfolio and an English proficiency certificate.
