The master’s programme in Business and Technology from Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) bridges the gap between – as one might expect – modern-day technology and the international world of business. Although the programme is marked by a distinct international flavour and a big focus on IT and innovation, students have the ability to thoroughly personalise their curriculum. 


First step in the market

As a graduate in Business and Technology you have acquired a broad knowledge of various fields like economics, technology and languages, which enables you to bridge the gap between the different worlds of the many and varying professions in the workforce. The all round and international character of the programme gives you a multitude of career options to choose from. Most of our graduates end up in top management and hold a financial position. But you also find graduates in strategic positions in consultancy, audit, marketing, chemistry and pharmaceuticals, banking and insurance.


If you want to continue your academic career, you can apply for a PhD position at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. All you need is a promoter, research subject and sufficient funding.

English Language Requirements

You only need to take one of these language tests:

  • Minimum required score:


    The IELTS – or the International English Language Test System – tests your English-language abilities (writing, listening, speaking, and reading) on a scale of 1.00–9.00. The minimum IELTS score requirement refers to which Overall Band Score you received, which is your combined average score. Read more about IELTS.

    The CAE test – or the Cambridge Advanced English – is an exam for applicants who wish to get a Certificate in Advanced English. To receive the Advanced certificate, test-takers must score between 142 and 210 on the Cambridge English: Advanced test. Read more about CAE.

    Note: degree programmes and applications may require a more specific minimum score for admission.

    The TOEFL – or Test OF English as a Foreign Language – offers a paper-based test (PBT). The final, overall PBT score ranges between 310 and 677, and is based on an average taken from the three test components (listening, structure, and reading).
