  • The Master in Environmental Economics and Management (MEEM) at Thompson Rivers University is a two-year, course-based program, providing graduates with a broad knowledge of the business environment, advanced management skills and specialized knowledge in environmental economics and sustainability.
  • The Master of Science in Environmental Economics and Management (MScEEM) at Thompson Rivers University provides graduates with an understanding of the business environment, specialized knowledge in the emerging area of sustainability as well as academic and applied research expertise through the completion of a graduate thesis or project.

                The IELTS – or the International English Language Test System – tests your English-language abilities (writing, listening, speaking, and reading) on a scale of 1.00–9.00.                 The TOEFL – or Test OF English as a Foreign Language – offers a paper-based test (PBT). The final, overall PBT score ranges between 310 and 677, and is based on an average taken from the three test components (listening, structure, and reading).                 The TOEFL – or Test Of English as a Foreign Language – offers an internet-based test (iBT). The final, overall iBT score ranges between 0 and 120, and includes a scaled average from the four components (reading, listening, speaking, and writing). Read more about TOEFL (iBT).

              Academic Requirements

              You need the following GPA score:

              Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of 3 or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

              Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

              • An acceptable three or four-year undergraduate degree in any discipline with a minimum B average (GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 4.33 or local equivalent) in the last 60 credits; and
              • Successfully completed each course in the GDBA with a minimum overall GPA of 3.00 or receive a course waiver for some or all of the GDBA courses based on their previous academic record. 
              • Applicants should possess adequate quantitative skills assessed through successful completion of specific undergraduate courses in quantitative subjects.
