The Master’s programme was established in 2009 with support of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and the Russian Foreign Ministry. This programme is implemented on the basis of a consortium of universities, which is chaired by Peoples` Friendship University.
As part of the programme the Interuniversity Resource Center for Human Rights was established. The Resource Center is a place of giving classes for the students enrolled in this program, as well as a working space and a library, which represents a unique collection of literature in various languages, covering all fields of human rights.
As part of the research work the students have the opportunity to take part in scientific and international events and publish their works.
Graduates’ expertise and career opportunities
Graduates can apply their knowledge and skills in the framework of their professional activities in international organizations, embassies, consulates, public service (the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Education of Russia, the Ministry of Justice of Russia), as well as practitioners, engaged in lodging complaints with the European Court of Human Rights and other international courts.
During the course Master students have the opportunity to attend lectures of highly qualified lecturers of the department, invited foreign lecturers, participate in master classes of international law experts of our country.
Students have the opportunity to learn several foreign languages. Not only graduates of Russian universities can take training course but also graduates from CIS and other foreign countries.

The living costs include the total expenses per month, covering accommodation, public transportation, utilities (electricity, internet), books and groceries.
At the same time there is an opportunity to study in the state-funded mode of study. To that end, you will have to apply for the scholarship programme of the Government of the Russian Federation which provides for free training for 15,000 foreign citizens from all over the world at the Russian Universities.
You can also get a chance for free training if you take part in the RUDN University open Olympiad for foreign citizens.
