About

The Industrial Engineering and Management programme offered by University of Twente (UT) teaches you to develop, analyse and optimize processes and management in organizations with a view to improving productivity, raising product and labour quality, and quantifying risks from a technological perspective. There are three fascinating specializations available; read about them on the site.

Today’s companies feel the need to be socially responsible while focusing on economics. People, planet and profit are the key words in business development and decision-making. Green logistics, safety, improving labour conditions and cradle-to-cradle are key issues for engineering process managers.

Programme Structure

Year 1 - The courses explore the theory and practice of these processes, covering topics such as the design and planning of manufacturing processes, warehousing, distribution logistics, project management, and maintenance projects, and include the use of software tools for the simulation of business processes. Most courses are based on the application of operations research techniques in solving problems in production and logistics.

Year 2 - In the first semester of your second year, you will have the option of incorporating courses from other universities (in the Netherlands and abroad) into the programme, provided that they are technically relevant and at the right academic level.
