University rank #141 (WUR) ,
Mechanical Engineering is a very broad discipline. It focuses on conceiving, designing, analyzing, making and improving mechanical products, processes and systems. From large scale to nanometer level. The Mechanical Engineering program is delivered by Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e).

When you start the Master's Program Mechanical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) you immediately choose one of the department's specialization tracks. These specializations represent the different research areas of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Graduated and then?

Almost all graduates quickly find the job they're looking for in business and industry, as a designer, an engineer or a project leader. Some of them start up their own company. For others, the research in the department proofs to be so interesting that they decide to carry out their own doctoral research.

But, of course, your career choice is not limited to the track that you opted for during your Master's program. The program is designed to ensure that you will also be able to specialize in other areas, and to enable you to continue your development on a broad basis.

This MSc program is legally recognized and accredited by the Accreditation Organisation of Holland and Flanders (NVAO).

Programme Structure

Computational and Experimental Mechanics

  • The specialization Computational and Experimental Mechanics focuses on the design of products based on the materials of which they are made and the design of the process conditions that determine the product characteristics.
Dynamical Systems Design
  • The specialization track Dynamical Systems Design has a focus on predicting and influencing motion or vibration in the operation of equipment and dynamic systems amongst which machines, products and manufacturing systems.
Thermo Fluids Engineering
  • Thermo Fluids Engineering focuses on the design and optimization of gas and fluid flows in installations and products such as solar panels, turbines, combustion chambers and heat exchangers.
Micro and Nanotechnology
  • You will learn how to design parts, products, processes and systems at minimum scale (with micro and nano-precision) and how to assemble them.
