Do you want to improve your understanding and expertise in business economics? This international Master’s programme offers a methodologically rigorous and effective approach to business economics issues, while it also encourages ethical reflection on the position of the manager in society, changes in the corporate world and the imperative of sustainability in today’s globalised economy. 


The acquisition of scientific competencies and their application in real-life business cases is one of the core objectives of this master. The programme is structured around a common part and the choice of a major and a minor.

Strategic Management, Ethical and Sustainable Business, Research Methods in Business Economics, the Master’s Thesis and the International Consulting Project form the core of every student’s curriculum.  

The major and minor allow you to specialise and tailor the programme to your personal interest. You can opt for a major and a minor in one of the following topics: Accounting, European and International Management, Finance, Marketing and Strategy and Organisation.


The Master’s programme offered by the University of Antwerp aims to improve your insights and ability to recognize and resolve business administration issues in a methodological sound and effective manner.


Job opportunities

Graduates of this programme generally take up managerial and/or research positions for (international) organizations in both the private and public sector or become self-employed.


A graduate can start his or her career in one of the different areas in business (finance, accounting, marketing, strategy and organization and international trade).

Job opportunities are also present in the consultancy, audit and assurance, banking and insurance sectors as well as in industrial and commercial corporations.


Playing a prominent part in international research, the Faculty of Applied Economics works together with universities and research institutions all over the world. The individual research carried out by its academics is fully integrated into the courses taught within the Faculty. The Faculty of Applied Economics is AACSB, EPAS and NVAO accredited.

English Language Requirements

    The IELTS – or the International English Language Test System – tests your English-language abilities (writing, listening, speaking, and reading) on a scale of 1.00–9.00.     The TOEFL – or Test OF English as a Foreign Language – offers a paper-based test (PBT). The final, overall PBT score ranges between 310 and 677, and is based on an average taken from the three test components (listening, structure, and reading).     The TOEFL – or Test Of English as a Foreign Language – offers an internet-based test (iBT). The final, overall iBT score ranges between 0 and 120, and includes a scaled average from the four components (reading, listening, speaking, and writing). Read more about TOEFL (iBT).

    Living Costs

The living costs include the total expenses per month, covering accommodation, public transportation, utilities (electricity, internet), books and groceries.


Students that belong tot he top 20% of their class, live in a Least Developed Country or other Low Income Country and have not yet obtained a master’s degree are eligible for a reduction in the price per credit. They have to request the reduction before the enrollment.
