Students who complete accredited planning courses will be eligible for membership of the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA).

This program is offered online and face-to face. The program is primarily taught through evening classes during the week, with some courses delivered through intensive full-day workshops. All core courses and some electives are offered online.


Professional recognition and accreditation
The Master of Urban Planning and Environment (MC221) is accredited by the Planning Institute of Australia.On successful completion of the program, graduates are eligible for membership of the Urban and Regional Planning Chapter of the Planning Institute of Australia, with reciprocal membership of key international planning associations by selecting appropriate studies.To be eligible for membership you must successfully complete four core courses and five planning elective courses.

    The IELTS – or the International English Language Test System – tests your English-language abilities (writing, listening, speaking, and reading) on a scale of 1.00–9.00.     The CAE test – or the Cambridge Advanced English – is an exam for applicants who wish to get a Certificate in Advanced English. To receive the Advanced certificate, test-takers must score between 142 and 210 on the Cambridge English: Advanced test. Read more about CAE.

    The TOEFL – or Test OF English as a Foreign Language – offers a paper-based test (PBT). The final, overall PBT score ranges between 310 and 677, and is based on an average taken from the three test components (listening, structure, and reading).   • successfully completed an Australian Bachelor degree (or equivalent overseas qualification) with a minimum GPA 2.5 (out of 4.0), or
