The University of South Alabama National Alumni Association was founded in 1974 with a mission to support and positively influence the goals of the University through an active relationship with the University, its alumni, students and friends. It exists to provide support to the University. The vision of the USA National Alumni Association is to provide comprehensive programs, services, and resources to benefit the University, its alumni, students and friends.

About

History

The University of South Alabama was founded in 1963 without a single building to call its own. More than 50 years and quite a few buildings later, USA is a vibrant university that continues to serve as a catalyst for transformational change in the city, the state and the Gulf Coast region.

Education

The University of South Alabama is a comprehensive, global research and teaching university that provides our students with an exceptional education in business, the liberal arts, education, engineering, computing, the sciences and health care.

USA's commitment to student success includes small class sizes and hands-on research opportunities in 100 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degree programs. USA graduates are accepted into the best medical schools, law schools and graduate schools in the country, and perform extremely well on national licensure exams.

Research

The University of South Alabama has a major responsibility as an institution of higher education to engage in programs of scholarly research and training.

Projects in progress at any one time cover the spectrum of the academic interests of its faculty and administration and represent the continuing growth of the University’s expertise in the arts, education, humanities, medicine and the sciences.

Residence Halls:

As a student, you have a wealth of choices to choose from when it comes to on-campus housing. Whether your plans include taking classes the entire academic year or simply during the spring or summer semesters, you can find housing with us on-campus.

Our residence halls are spread across the west side of main campus in two main areas: Northwest and Southeast. These areas are divided into 6 residential communities that are home to our 32 residence halls.

Computer Services Center:

The Computer Services Center (CSC) supports a wide range of computing and network services throughout the University Campuses and Hospitals.

Services include the student information and financial systems, wired and wireless networks, internet access and email, telephone systems, the directory and authentication systems, network storage systems, and numerous other services.

Medical services

The mission of the Student Health Center (SHC) at the University of South Alabama is to provide efficient and cost effective health care services relevant to the needs of the University Community. We strive to accomplish this through health education, health promotion and primary medical care.

Campus Recreation:

Education is a lifelong process; the University simply helps to lay the foundation for continued learning. Campus Recreation can be and should be an integral part of your learning foundation. The educational benefits afforded you by participation in recreation are great and varied.

Our recreation program provides open recreation opportunities, structured intramural activities, fitness activities, outdoor recreation, aquatics activities, and sports clubs, all of which allow you to develop lifetime patterns of healthful living. In addition, through your involvement in positive recreational programs, you will meet people in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
